We had a great first week back & loved catching up with each other about what we did over the holidays. We started the topic of money in Maths & the children brought in a number of different currencies: Nigerian, Brazilian, Polish, Russian & old Irish coins & notes. Our brainstorming sessions led to interesting conversations around demonetisation, converting currencies of different countries & how they relate to the euro, using ATMs & bank cards. We started the topic of clothes in history & science & discovered what materials clothes are made from by investigating clothes labels. We created observational drawings of our shoes & runners in Art & worked really hard to look at the object 70% of the time and at the page only 30% of the time. Sophia was our star pupil of the week- she really listened and contributed well to class discussion. On Friday we performed at the whole school assembly by reciting a New Year poem and telling everyone what we learned this week. Well done Lime Class!
