We learned all about Autumn this week and went on a nature trail in search of conkers, acorns, leaves and pine cones. See below some photos of use having fun out in the fresh air. We used the big collection from our nature trail to draw from observation in our Art lesson and then used them for counting and dividing things out between people in Maths. Harry the Hedgehog was happy to hear us learning all about how hedgehogs live and how they prepare for hibernation. We had lots of fun over the course of Maths week in the Lime Room. We did a Maths trail all around the school and worked together in groups to search for answers to 25 questions. We did maths stations, played maths games, learned shape songs, worked on subtraction and fractions in class. We created fantastic maths art posters and even had the winning entry from the whole school competition, well done Kyle! In assembly on Friday we performed our shape songs for the school and exhibited our artwork. Our star pupil of the week was Pushn for being considerate and thoughtfu of others. He always offers a helping hand to his classmates. Well done Pushn!
It's Maths week next week and we were so excited that we decided to start our Maths Art competition entries today. The competition is running across the whole school and we're hoping someone from Third Class will win a fantastic surprise!...fingers crossed.
Parents are invited to come in on Wednesday at 11am to help out with some fun maths games in our classroom. If you have the time and would like to come in and take part, please drop me an email at [email protected] or let me know when I meet you at the line. The more the merrier, thanks in advance! Our star of the week was Anisa for always making an effort to present her work neatly and trying her very best all the time. She is a fantastic listener and loves to help others. Well done Anisa!
Taylor was our star pupil of the week for being such a hard worker and always making an effort to take part in lessons. She uses her key of persistence to be successful and happy. Congratulations Taylor!
We are beginning to plan school activities and trips outside of the school for the upcoming months. I am looking for 3 or 4 parents to volunteer to help throughout the year. This could be just once (whenever you have the time) or for a period of time. The events will include shared reading, maths for fun, school tours, outings, swimming, sports events, etc.
If you are interested and would like to volunteer just pop me an email at [email protected], contact me via Class Dojo or send a note in with your child. I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks in advance. Here's a sample of some of our classroom displays. The children did fantastic group work making our classroom tree with an individual lime tree leaf for every child. Then they created fantastic abstract self-portraits inspired by Picasso. There's brilliant artists i the Lime Class!
