Reminder about wonderful Intercultural Day that takes place this Friday 26th May! We will be kicking things off with an Intercultural Breakfast for all the parents - so please join us and bring along your favourite breakfast foods from around the world at 8.30am in the hall! Afterwards, parents will be treated to performances from classes; displays of project work and a colourful parade of the whole school community wearing their county colours or country dress! We cannot wait for everyone to join us for this fantastic celebration of our amazing Intercultural school community! See you there!
We had a fantastic day out today in Santry, representing and supporting our school teams in Athletics. We competed in relay races and sprints and were very proud to receive a couple of second places. Go Powerstown! All the children took part in a parade around the track before the races started. We had the best seats to watch the races from as we were right in front of the finish line. Well done to all who took part and all the children that cheered for their school mates. It was a day to remember! We were lucky to have a fabulous sunny day for our sponsored walk. We walked 5km on the senior walk and got great exercise. A policeman stopped traffic for us to cross the road at the busy roundabout. It was lots of fun. We even spotted a couple of hares on our walk. Well done Lime Class! The PTA are organising a Sponsored Fun Walk on Thursday 18th of May, during the Walk to School Week. Donation: €1 per child. The PTA are using money raised to provide some refreshments at the 6th class graduation evening in June.
Please make sure your child comes to school with a coat and is wearing runners. Extra food and water should be included in their lunch bags. Parents are welcome to join us on the walk. Junior Infant–1st Class. Route is 1km. Children will leave school at 10.30am. 2nd–6th class Sponsored Walk is 5km. We were delighted to welcome Heitor back from his holidays in Brazil this week. He read his new Darth Vader book to us during our lunch break. We're very proud of him as his reading is excellent and has improved so so much this year. Well done Heitor, thanks for keeping us entertained. May the force be with you! Research the following websites and take down some information and fun facts that you learned about the Normans. Tomorrow you will share your research with the class and add it to our classroom display. Have fun!

Our class created large paper collages of their chosen animal. They took their time to find the correct shade & tone of colour before cutting the paper into the suitable shape & sticking them on to their animal outline. Some of the children were very focussed and really got into the activity. Their finished artwork was fantastic! Well done Lime Class. See below a selection of the children with their final pieces. |
