Each project must have: A title, information organised into sections with subtitles, pictures, fun facts, list of group members involved and what they did. It was our turn to perform in Senior Assembly today. As it was 'show racism the red card day', we described how we have an amazing total of 13 nationalities represented in our class of 18 children and how we love to learn all about different cultures. We recited the poem, 'The Crayon Box That Talked' and each of the children held a letter up to show the words 'celebrate diversity'. Well done Lime Class! We had lots of fun this week using our maths eyes to create maths eyes posters that were entered into a national competition, a selection of which can be seen below. In Science we learned all about teeth and in History we learned about Antarctic Exploration. The class had lots of fun with multiplication too. Kyle was our student of the week so Leon has accompanied him home for the weekend. I hope they have fun together! We gathered a collection of fun facts about Science over the course of the week. The children made their own fun fact science posters and Ali even made a 3D model of all the planets in our solar system! Well done Ali! Our focus for the week was electricity and we carried out experiments to learn about static electricity. We discovered we could create static energy by rubbing a plastic biro pen on our hair to create friction. Then we used the biro to lift up pieces of paper-amazing! We also discovered that Michael's hair was the best in the class to create static electricity. Our class loves to learn outside and this week we went on a science trail to explore some of the trees in our forest school. We learned lots of new vocabulary on the topic and enjoyed brainstorming sessions in groups. Well done Lime Class! We decided to mix things up this week in the Lime Room and integrate our maths topic ( data) with our recycling week theme. We made a tally chart to record how many items we recycled throughout the week. The children all brought in recycled materials from home and we worked together to create 'Rob the Recyclebot'. He has a fantastic big mouth that opens wide to reveal a section for paper waste and another section for plastic waste. Check out the photos below. He joined all his other robot/monster friends today from the whole school. Well done Lime class! This weeks award winners are pictured below after receiving their awards in assembly. Our star pupil of the week was Christian for fantastic listening all week and being Oscar organised. Well done Christian!
