Our star pupil of Week 5 is pictured here in his ninja turtle PJs on pyjama day! Heitor was rewarded for trying his best in class and having a positive attitude towards his work. He was outstanding all week in the line. Well done Heitor!
Rihanna was our star pupil last week for setting a fantastic example in the line and being a super group leader all week. Here she is pictured with Leon after their fun weekend of adventures together. He even got himself a new epic t-shirt in Blanchardstown, look how happy he is, well done Rihanna.
Corey was our star pupil of the week for trying her best, being attentive and helpful to others. Here she is pictured with Leon who she hung out with over the weekend. Well done Corey, great job!
We had lots of fun at our Roald Dahl party today. George from Geroge's Marvellous Medicine came along and even the grand high witch from Matilda! There was also an angry bird in the classroom for the day. We invented our own chocolate bars and talked about our favourite Roald Dahl books. It was great!
We have done the Oompa Loompa song and Pure Imagination from Charlie & the Chocolate Factory in our music lessons. We made timelines of Roald Dahl's life in History. We love his books, some of our favourites are Matilda, George's Marvellous Medicine, The Twits and the BFG. We are doing lots of work with Roald Dahl stories in our classroom and discussing the books we like to read. We have learned about adjectives, time connectives, what makes a good story and the structure of a story. We are listening to the BFG and even made our own hopes and dreams jars for the year.
It's 100 years since the birth of Roald Dahl. To celebrate this wonderful author, we are having a Roald Dahl Party Day this Friday and all the class pupils are invited! The children can dress up as their favourite character from a Roald Dahl story and there will be lots of fun games to play! Here's some ideas for costumes: Willy Wonka/Charlie Bucket from Charlie & the Chocolate Factory, Sophie/the BFG, one of The Twits, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Mrs. Trunchbull/Matilda, Mr. Hoppy from Esio Trot.. Our star pupil last week was Helen for excellent listening and her outstanding contribution in class. She took Leon home for the weekend and had fun showing him around her house and playing school with him. She said he was a great student!
Pupils in the Lime Room have been busy preparing their election posters, slogans and speeches for the upcoming elections this week. Here is a sample of some of the finished posters and works in progress!
Every Friday there is a star pupil chosen for trying their best all week. They have the pleasure of bringing home Leon, our class mascot for the full weekend. He's a friendly orangutan that sits pride of place at the top of the classroom. Our first star of the week this year was Ali for always listening in class and making a great effort to work hard. We loved hearing about all the fun they had together when he returned with him on Monday morning. We look forward to hearing all about our next star pupil's adventures with Leon!!
