Well done to our first student of the week in Term 3- Zudayze! He impressed us with his brilliant dance moves and great effort he put into rehearsals for the Jungle Book play. He worked hard all week and tried his best in stations. Well done Zudayze!
Well done to all the students in our school who made it to school every day for all of Term 2. It's fantastic to see 3 winners from the Lime Class- Mike, Corey and Helen. I was very proud! Here they are pictured with their prizes. Have a great Spring break!

He used kind words and was considerate of others. Maith thú Joseph, we're very proud!
We celebrated World Water Day by taking part in the 'Walk for Water' challenge in the school yard. This was to highlight the distance travelled every day by some people in the world to get clean water. We carried 6 litres of water for 6 full laps of the yard and everyone took their turn to carry it.
On Monday we had our inspection for the Water flag and fingers crossed we will receive our flag soon! We started off the week by doing very interesting science experiments with PhD students that visited the school. They did a workshop with our class and had 4 stations with a different experiment at each one. It was very interesting and the children had lots of fun. We had a great time celebrating all things Irish this week in school. Each day we played a game where children in the class asked questions as Gaeilge to one class member and the one who answered the most questions correctly was the winner. The Gaelgóir an Lae got a trophy and Irish hat for the day. I was very impressed with the children's ability to come up with questions as Gaeilge and answer them correctly.
On Wednesday, we had a chance to perform our Irish play- Gilín Sneachta. Everyone worked hard to remember their lines and actions and they did a fantastic performance. I was very proud. A recording of the performance can be viewed here. On Thursday we had a chance to enjoy some Irish music in Andy's classroom. Andy and his father played some Irish tunes on the guitar, accordian and tin whistle. We all sang along and some children even did some Irish dancing too. We took part in a céilí with the children in the Gaelscoil too and enjoyed practising our Irish and dancing with them. A video of the céilí can be viewed here. We won the prestigious award of Best Third Class in the country this week. We had entered the competition at the start of the year and had a very special visitor on Wednesday of this week. She looked at all of our hard work we have done since the start of the year and was very impressed with the on-going effort and determination of the children in the Lime Class. Everyone got a certificate and had no homework for the evening so they could enjoy themselves in the sunshine! Well done Lime Class!
