We had a great time celebrating all things Irish this week in school. Each day we played a game where children in the class asked questions as Gaeilge to one class member and the one who answered the most questions correctly was the winner. The Gaelgóir an Lae got a trophy and Irish hat for the day. I was very impressed with the children's ability to come up with questions as Gaeilge and answer them correctly.
On Wednesday, we had a chance to perform our Irish play- Gilín Sneachta. Everyone worked hard to remember their lines and actions and they did a fantastic performance. I was very proud. A recording of the performance can be viewed here. On Thursday we had a chance to enjoy some Irish music in Andy's classroom. Andy and his father played some Irish tunes on the guitar, accordian and tin whistle. We all sang along and some children even did some Irish dancing too. We took part in a céilí with the children in the Gaelscoil too and enjoyed practising our Irish and dancing with them. A video of the céilí can be viewed here. Comments are closed.
